Hastings, Last Night. The unofficial result of the recount of the Hawke's Bay vote is: MeNab 4217, Campbell 4177, informal 100; majority for McNab, 40. The Magistrate ruled that 39 of the votes credited by the returning officer to Campbell, and eight to McNab were informal. It is understood that these votes have pencil marks through the Christian name (only) of one of the candidates, and the name of the other candidate is completely cancelled. It is almost certain that the Supreme Court ruling will be taken. There are said to be numerous cases of dual voting. REIUYMENT OF "A LOAN. Dunedin, December 28. The Hon. James Allen, who is returning to Wellington to-day, told an interviewer that arrangements had 1 made to the Government for paying this month the balance of the loan, amounting to nearly three and a quarter millions, raised by Sir Joseph Wa„rd four years ago. The money for this repayment had been raised in London through the help of the Imperial Government.
