Edison's "The Voice of Silence," is a splendid film; "Scenes in Ancient Rome" is one of special interestKeystone's comedy, "Laughing Gas," should produce some extra loud laughs"How Fruit is Crystallised," is also a very interesting film. Seats may be reserved at the Theatre or ring 'phone ROYAL PICTURES. The popularity of what is known as the animal picture" is greater, perhaps, than tho popularity of any other class of picture. The reason is no't far to seek, because the introduction of savage beasts into plays, in the daringly realistic fashion followed by the cinematographer, is something which is absolutely unique to the film drama. In no other form of entertainment has it ever been possible to use wild animals as they arc used In the picture plays. In "In the Midst of the Jungle," the Selig animal film presented at the Royal last night, one has all that could be desired in animal pictures. The work of the various players who appear in the picture is mainly notable for the narrow risks which they run under dangerous circumstances. Miss Kathlyn Williams, the Selig company's famous leading lady, has a part which, one is tempted to tlunk, no other actress would have the nerve to perform.
