' Mr. Justice Powers, in the /Arbitration ; 1 Court, refused the Eeltham employers' I application to grant a reduction in wages owing to depression in trade, caused by the war and drought. He expressed the opinion that tfie applical tion was made to enable tlie employers i to continue to employ men below a living wage for an indefinite period. ' The King and Queen sent Christmas 1 greetings to tlie Australian navy.
