THOSE ONE HUNDRED VOTES. HOW WAS THE MISTAKE MADET Napier, December 20. There is much discussion here concerning the circumstances arising out of the recount of votes ror the Hawke's Bay electorate, which gave the scat to Dr iUeNul). The momentous package of 100 votes that changed the complexion of affairs is specially the subject of comment. It is said that the three papers on the top of this bundle were votes for Mr Campbell. On examination however, it proved that the !)7 votingpapers beneath were all for Dr McNab. There is keen speculation concerning the probable outcome of the magisterial recount that commences on Wednesday morning.
