A Budapest correspondent writes that the public are horrified at the details of the rout of the lAustro-llungarians by 1 ' Servia. The losses in the light and rearguard action amounted to 00,000 killed and wounded, while 35,000 were taken prisoners. There were more gmis, provisions, and ammunition lost than Servia ever possessed. j The remnant of General T'otiovekh's army, which has been reduced to 100,000, ; is now in Bosnia, and endeavoring to reform, but the Austro-ITungarians are worn out by exhaustion from incessant marches and hunger. Count Tisza (Prime Minister), in a speech delivered in Parliament, intimated that Hungary would separately defend hersel,f if the Austrians permitted an invasion. lie cpmhasised the fact that Hungary was an independent State, although there was a union with Austria.
