MATTHEWS, GAMLIN AND CO.'S REPORT. Matthews, Gamlin and Co., report a. good yarding in lnglewood on Wednesday last, owing to the near approach of the holidays, prices were not quite on it par with last w;ccks sals, but there was goo*.' bidding on all store and forward cows, also bulls, young cattle were | very slack, and the majority of these ottered had to be pi-.ssed in. Prices, bulls £5 10s to £lO 15s, light cows (stores), £3 15s to £•« Bs, others, £5 5s to £0 ss, forward do £6 IDs to £7 !)s (id, fat do £8 to £0 17s, 15 months steers £2 7s (id to £3 Is, heifers 38s (id to £2 2s, good weaners (steers) £1 7s (id to 30s. JOIINSOXjVILLE. At Johnsonville good yardings of prime sheep and cattle came forward and sold well at late rates. Prime heavy bullocks made £l4 15s, prime bullocks £l3 2s to £l3 ss, lighter £l2 12s Gd to £l2 17s fid, fat cows £8 ss, prime heavy wethers 255, prime heavy ewes 22s i)d to 235, prime maiden ewes and wethers 22s Cd, good ewes 20s 9d to 21s, prime lambs 14s (id to 15s Gd, others lis (id to 13s (id. BUKNSIDE. At Burnside 241 fat cattle were yarded. Only a few prime bullocks came forward, the bulk of the entry comprising medium 'quality. A freezing buyer was operating freely, and prices, which showed a decline of 10s to 15s last week, again swung back to the usual rates. Best bullocks made £l4 10s to £ls 10s, extra prime heavy to £l7 17s (id, medium £l2 to £l3 10s, others £lO to'£ll, best cows and heifers £9 10s to £ll, extra to £l3 10s, others £8 to £9. Fat Sheep.—229s penned. A medium yarding, the quality of which was fairly good. Competition was keen, with prices about on a par with last week's rates. Best wethers in wool 32s 3d to 355, best shorn wethers 28s to 30s, medium 25s to 275, inferior to "21s, best woolly ewes to 30s, best shorn ewes to 255, medium to 225, others to 18s. Fat Lambs. —There was a large yard, ing, 270 being penned. The quality was good, competition was keen, and prices showed an advance of about 2s per liead_ Best made 225, medium to 18s !)d, light and inferior to lfis. ADDINGTON. At Addington live stock market the feature of the fat stock yardings was the large entry of fat lambs and the high quality of some of the fat cattle. There was an improved demand for beef, and fat lambs sold well. Store sheep of good quality sold at last week's rates, but inferior sorts were easier, and fat sheep were not so firm. Woolly 4-tooth wethers made up to IDs Od, good forward 4-tooth wethers 17s to ISs <Sd, dry 4 and (i-tootli ewes 10s Bd, forward 2-tooth wethers to 10s 7(1, fair 2-tooth wethers 14s to 15s 4d, inferior 2-tooth wethers lis to 13s Gd, 2 ; tootli ewes 15s to 15s Id, good 2_tooth ewes 15s to 15s Id, good 2-tooth ewes to 19s Gd. Fat lambs. —Best lambs 17s to 20s 9d, tighter do lGs Gd. Fat Sheep.—Ertra prime wethers to - 40s, prime wethers 22s to 2Gs 3d, lighter wethers Ms 9d to 21s -Gd, prime ewes 19s to 24s 3d, others 13s 3d to 18s Gil, merino wethers l'Js, merino ewes 10s 9d .to 15s. Fat Cattle.—Extra steers to £2l ss, •average steers £7 17s Gd to £l2, extra heifers to £l4 17s 'Gd, average heifers ,£G to £8 17s (id, extra cows to £ 15, average cows £5 7s Gd to £9; price of beef per 1001b, 32s Gd to 42s Gd, extra to 455. Store Cattle. —Yearlings 355, 15 to 18month £2 15s to £3 17s; 2-year steers, £4 5s to £4 10s; 2i-year steers, £5 10; 3-year steers, £G ss; 3-year heifers, £5 15s. Dry cows 29s to £4 15s, and dairy cows £3 10s to £9. ' Pigs_—Choppers 50s to 70s, extra heavy baconers to 09s, heavy baconers 57s (id to Gas, lighter baconers 47s to 555, price per lb., 51d.
