DISTRICT NEWS.
KAPOXGA. The Town Board met on Thursday, l'resent. Commissioners Betts (chair) 'Death, Grey, and Law. The 'Board's electrical engineer was |in attendance, and submitted plana and specifications for electric works. These were duly considered and adopted by the Board, authority being given to call tenders for the work. The Public Trust Office wrote inti. mating that loan money would be available on completion of necessary legal i formalities. The lessee of the Town Hall for picture purposes wrote agreeing to the terms of lease, except in regard to providing protection against fire for picture machines.—jTlie Board refused to vary the terms already quoted, A letter was received from a raterate charged for footpath construction. —No action taken. A complaint was received from the Oddfellows' Lodge concerning the lighting of the Town Hall on Thursday evening last.—Resolved to inform complain, ants that the incident was due to an 1 accident to the custodian. The Board expressed regret that the accident had
' occurred. I The foreman's report oil work done was received. iMr. R. ,Law's offer of land, etc., required for electric lights scheme for the sum of £SO was accepted. The trustees of .the Methodist Church will be notified to trim the overhanging hedge without delay. A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised here on Wednesday afternoon, the contracting parties being Mr. George Henry Sharp and Miss Mary Harris. The ceremony was performed i by the Rev. 0. M. Stent of St. Mark's j I Church. The service was fully choral, { j Mrs. Baigcnt presiding at the organ. f The bride wore a pretty dress of kream I silk, trimmed with lace to match, and wore the usual veil- and orange blossoms and carried a lovely shower bouquet The bridesmaids were Miss .1. FauJl and/ Miss E. Stotfr, the former being dressed in white voile, trimmed with French knots, and the bitter's dress consisting of cream voile trimmed with silk lace, both wearing hats to match, ' and carrying bouquets. After the cere- . mony bao guests adjourned to the Cotlfee Palace for afternoon tea, the usual ( toasts being duly honored, after which < the happy couple left for their home with the good wishes of all present. The present were numerous and costly, Miss Harris being the recipient of a kitchen tea on the previous week, given by members of St. 'Mark's congregation and friends, _ = _ =^^_== _
