DEATH BY ELECTROCUTION.

By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. ' Dunedin, Last Night. \ The inquest on the body of Martin Lyons Park, who was electrocuted on the reclaimed ground on Sunday afternoon, was held this afternoon. Medical evidence showed there was slight scorching of the right arm. The cause of death was paralysis of the heart muscles, resulting from shock. His wet hands and wet feet and wet probably diverted the electric current into the body much more readily than if he had been dry. Other evidence showed that the wire which had fallen had been up only six months, and the Corporation officials could not understand how it broke. A ver.act of death from paralysis of the heart following shock was returned. WASHED OVERBOARD. Invercargill, Last Night. John Stanley,, a sailmaker on the barque Irene, from Maiden Island, was 'washed overboard and drowned ten days before the vessel made port.. t KILLED DURING'FARM WORK. Invercargill, Last Night. An inquest was held at Clarendon regarding the death of William George Miller, a single man, aged 80. He yoked up three horses to a'roller, and departed to his work. As he did not return at lunch, deceased's employer instituted a search, and found deceased with the left side of his skull crushed in, presumably 'the result of a kick from <;he shaft horse in the roller. Medical evidence pointed to the fact that death must have been 'instantaneous. ACCIDENT IN A QUARRY. Invercargill, Last Night. On Saturday night a young man, Edgar Armstrong, aged 19, a resident of Wyndham, was admitted to the Southland Hospital, suffering from, a compound fracture of the left leg. li appears that he had been working in a quarry, and was shovelling earth into a dray, when a fall of earth from above resulted in his sustaining the injury. His nondition is as satisfactory as can be expected. CHILD .BURNED TO DEATH. Invercargill, Last Night. " Florence Josephine Wilson, aged five Jears, was fatally burned. She was standing before a fire, and her nightdress caught alight. She was removed to the hospital, but died on arrival.
