The wool catalogued for Wednesday's sale totals 18,994 bales, NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Friday, 11th inst., at my Waiwataiho yards, there was a fair yarding, with a good attendance of buyers. Mr. Oldham's dairy cows were a nice lot, and drew buyers from South Taranaki. Good i competition resulted, the herd making an average of £!) 10s, which must be considered very satisfactory, when it is taken into consideration that these cows hare been in milk sinee August. At Stratford on Tuesday I had a fair yarding, mostly good-quality cattle, and 1 fair bidding for most lines offered. Any " cow, bull, or bullock having any size and condition sells readily. Thcro is a distinct improvement in the 15-month ; heifera, either big heifers ready for the " bull, or the smaller cattle to keep empty. I had several good pens of sheep, and although these were enquired for, I was not able to make many sales at the hammer, although practically .all the sheep yarded were sold during the day by private treaty. In the dairy yards I sold five pedigree Jersey bulls, on account of Mr. W. Vickers, Midhirst, at from 9y 2 to 12 guineas each; also springing heifers, at £5 ss. On Wednesday, the 9th Inst., at my Stcny River yards, there was an exceptionally heavy entry, all yards and races being full, and cattle had to be sold In the adjoining paddock.
