THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE. Will t'tae k: a dissolution and a second general election? This all-absorb-ing topic for the two days succeeding the election now becomes of secondary importance, for to-day finds our people fully engrossed with solving the important question, where shall we go on Boxing Day? Hundreds have already answered, and declared unhesitatingly for the Axemen's Carnival at Eltliam on Boxing Day and the following Monday. No finer athletic gathering is held in Australasia, despite the fact that large cities oifer big attractions at times. Upwards of £IOO offered as prize-money in a single event is not a common occurrence, and it stamps this carnival as something out of the ordinary. The published handicaps indicate a maintenance of interest in the carnival by the lending axemen and sawyers of the Dominion, and the cycling events have drawn some of the best New Zealand talent. The Kailway Department runs special trains, at excursion fares. [
