PERSONAL.
The sudden death of Mr P. H. Bongo, came as a shook Id hig friends and to' the business community, Bays the Bta'r.' The deceased came from Reefton to Hawera -in May or Juno, 1901, and entered the (stationery business, with whichhe' has been cpnneeted ever since. He was a familiar figure on the railway pintform, whore he had the boolcstall ft** some time, but which he recently relinquished. ' i&jjetl-fsed m-vcr' took a prominent part in local government affairs, he did what llobtmlUm an ;unostentatious manner to advance the ( interests of tlie towjj. He took a keen I interest" in the New Year Day srortv and delighted in controlling the children's games. He was a member o' the Masonic I.odgs and the Oddfellows' Order. Deceased was about 55 years, and leaves a grown-up family. Hi's wife predeceased him some years ago. Mr Boase wag..highly respected by all with whom he came into contact.
