BOWLING.
FITZROY v. INGLEWOOD. . ! Three rinks of Fitzroy bowlers visited Inglewood on Saturday, and played a most enjoyable game against the local club. The green .was in excellent order, being fast and trite. The visitors took some time before comttiencing to score, and when they got going could only just hold their own, and as a consequence were unable to pick up the arrears, being eventually defeated by 78 to 57. Details are as follow, Inglewood being mentioned first in each case:— A Marshall, IT. Olson, Allen, and. Codd (a.), 20, v. Hopkins, T. G. Sole, Oxenham, and Higgs (s.), 20. Mackay, M. Marsh, Johnson, and Sutherland (s.), 20, v. Reid, Johnson, Evison, and Smith (s.), IG. Lightfoot, W. Olson, Branch, and. G. Morton (s.), 32, v. 11 ill, Wellcr, Coxhead, and Hartnell (a.) ,21. i The visitors wore most hospitably entertained by the ladies, and at the close of the game Mr. S. Smith, on behalf of the Fitzroy players, acknowledged the courtesy, as well as the welcome received from the local club. Cheers were given to each club by the other. t WAITARA v. NEW PLYMOUTH. Two rinks of Waitara bowlers played a friendly game against New Plymouth on the town green on Saturday. The finish was exciting. Waitara had a good lead when the Pulford-Smart game ended, and the scores were even when ■there was but one head to play. The details were as follow.
