The usual quarterly meeting of tha Plymouth Chamber- of Commerce was held last nightt. Our report is held j/t'.r till next issue.

The new freezing works were opened. l at Patea on Tuesday, when about 458 lambs were killed, and 600 sheep and 70 calves ( were in the yards waiting killing. Feeling ran high at Mr. Wilkinson's Opunake meeting on Saturday evening last, and there was more than one excited invitation to "come outside.*— Times.

. At Mr. Okcy's .meeting on iWedneday night, the candidate stated, in answer 'to a question, that 'he had secured tlio sum of £9OOO as a loan from the Government for.tfie TaranaTci Oil Well's, Ltd. This was inadvertedly omitted from our report of Mr. Okey'a meeting. To-morrow, at Whiteley Memorial Church, the Sunday School Anniversary will be celebrated with special services. The anniversary music has been the subject of special care in selection and. rehearsal, and the children will have (the assistance of adult singers and orchestra. There will be three services —morning, afternoon and evening. Large congregations are anticipated.

During the last two months the following gentlemen have given shrubs, etc., for the cemetry:—Mr F. Morshead (bulbs); Mr A. Hooker, (assorted); Mrs Autridge (large collection); Mrs Crocker (trees, etc.); Mr L. A- Nolan, (sack dahlias).; Mrs Brash (assorted lot); Mrs L. N. Okey, (shrubs, etc.) jjfr W. M. Hutchinson (14 boxes or assorted plants, about £6 worth); Mrs G. Tisch (assorted plants).

It has teen arranged that Sunnext, December f>, shall be observed by all Protestant churches throughout the Dominion as Bible-in-State Schools Sunday, when special reference will be made to this important subject, and collections made to further the work of the Bible in State Schools, League. This will be the third consecutive occasion on which the-'claims of the League for the support of all Christiana have been placed before tlie people from the pulpits of the various denominations!

The triennial children's demonstration to be held in connection with the local no-license movement this afternoon will start at 2 p.m. from the Good Templar Hall. It will proceed via Courtenay and Cover streets to Devon street, which it, will, traverse as •"ar as Queen street, thence to the railway station, and along Egmont street, back tH) Devon street. The return route ■will be along Devon street to Currie street as far as the railway goods shed, near which a halt will be made, whilst two or three, short speeches are deliv--1 ered, after which the procession will 'return .to the Good Templar Hall.
