Dr Barklcy, now superintendent of Southland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, lias been appointed to a similar position in Wellington, subject to the approval of the Minister.

The death is announced of Mr. Ilungerford lioche, one of tho best-known settlers in the Waikato.
