SAN TOY. To-morrow morning, at 5.30. o'clock, the box plan will open at Collier's for the New Plymouth Operatic .Society's first (uppearaneo in New Plymouth witii "iSan Toy." It is just 'two years ago since: 'this brilliant ojigaaiisatioii delighted the patrons of the Theatre Koyal with Sydney Jones' Japanese play "The G'idsha.' Last year ■ they went one better with "A Country Girl," which created more than a favorable impression, and again this year they ai'e to the fore with another of Sydney Jones' clever compositions, "San Toy.'' Ths tme the plot is laid in China, and is; beset with many amusing incidents. When produced in 1900 at Daly's Theatre, London, it secured an instantaneous success, running for two years without a break, with sutih. capable artist 3 as Marie Tempest, Hilda Moody, Haydn and Huntly Wright playing the leading roles. "San Toy" simply bristles with delightful numbers, which are sure to catch on, and those wishing .to secure good scats will do well to bear in .mind, that the hox office opens this morning, and secure their seats early, so as not to be left lamenting.
