ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

A CHILD KILLED. Eltham, November 30. Thomas Sager, the 22 months old son of Gordon Sager, Te Rott, met with a fatal accident on Saturday afternoon. He was playing around a plough and pulled the implement over, the handle pinning the child to the ground by the throat and dislocating his neck. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned.

SUICIDE AT A HOTEL. Auckland, Yesterday. The body of Percy Mason, supposed to bo a labourer, was found in a room in the Imperial Hotel on Sunday with a gunshot wound in the head. It is' supposed that he committed suicide with a revolver. Papers in his pockets showed that he had an account in the Post Office Savings Bank at Gisborne, and was recently at Tologa Bay.

SUDDEN DEATHS. Wellington, November 29. William George Smith, single, aged 54, a laborer residing at Karori, was found dead in bed on Saturday morning. It is supposed that heart disease was the cause. Robert Jamieson, aged 50, an inmate of the Ohiro Home, was found in Taranaki street on Friday night. He appeared to have been drinking, and was suffering from chest trouble, lie was taken to the Home, where he died later. DROWNED FROM A SUKF BOAT. Wellington, November 29. Captain Petersen, of the steamer Kahu, which arrived last niglit from Te Awnite, states that when the accident to the surf boat was observed from the steamer, a lifeboat was launched and away within four minutes. The sea had been calm, but suddenly, "Without any warning, mountainous waves began to run, although no wind was blowing. He had, therefore, to signal the lifeboat's crew not to attempt to come out to the steamer again. The Kahu came on with only an engineer, two firemen, and the cook, and was very glad to make port. One of the seamen drowned was D. Matheson, not Patterson, as reported earlier.
