ANj OFFER TO RETIRED OFFICERS. By Telegraph—Per Press Association. Wellington, November 3d The Imperial Government has notified that they will provide passages to .and from Europe for all ex-Imperial regular and ex-Imperial territorial officers who will rejoin their old units. An allowance of £.W will be made for providing uniforms and £7 10s for camp kit. All oflicers coming in under the olTer must be between the ages of 24 and 40, and certified medically fit for a temporary commission during the present war. Applications should be made without delay • to the Adjutant-General, Wellington and should show rank, unit, and age. On receipt of applications arrangements will be made for medical examination. TTIE REINFORCEMENTS AT TRENTHAM. A NATIONAL CAMP. Wellington, November 30. The reinforcement camp now established at Trentham is remarkable in more ways than one. It is the first national camp in a truly national sense ill New Zealand. The men in it arc fully representative of the best manhood in the country, and the camp is considered to bo tilt! best organised and administered that has yet been held in this country. In the past, camps have, been held upon a purely regimental brigade or a district scale, but in the present cam]) at Trentham the whole of tin- New Zealand army is represented, every regiment, and every arm of the service, and the men in. it are goinfr to reinforce every unit in tho Expeditionary Force now on its way to Europe. The men have been drawn from all parts of New Zealand. The camp is admirably laid out and equipped. RUMOURS FROM SAMOA. Wellington, November 50. In reference- to statements recently made regarding the court-martial of a German prisoner in Samoa, the Prime Minister states that tlie Governor has received a message from Colonel Logan, Administrator of Samoa, that there is no truth ,in the statement that any German had been condemned to death.
