POLITICAL.

CANDIDATE ASKED TO WITHDRAW IN WELLINGTON CENTRAL. Wellington, November 2G. Mr. Daniel Moriarty, Independent Labor candidate for Wellington central,, opened his campaign to-night. There was a large attendance. The candidate's address largely concerned Labor matters, and strongly criticised the Government's attitude thereon. He would not support any party platform. He believed in voting for principles. He was opposed to the bare majority on the liquor question and others. If elected, lie would in the main support the policy of the Liberals. At the 'conclusion 'of the speech, which was marked by some lively interjections, a motion was carried almost unanimously inviting the candidate tp withdraw from the contest, and the meeting ended with cheers for the Opposition candidate.
