QUIET CONFIDENCE AS TO RESULT. EXTRAORDINARY RECRUITING Delhi, November 27. War news continues to absorb the entire interest of all the communities in India. The whole country is engaged in furthering schemes of every kind for assisting in ultimate victory. Practically every Englishwoman in India is working for the comfort of the troops The daily telegrams of victories and reverses are received throughout the country with quiet and supreme confidence as to the result of the struggle. Recruiting for the native army continues in an extraordinary manner. The martial instincts of the fighting races have been whetted by accounts of Indian feats at the front. In consequence of the number of applications received, the Commander-in-Chief has been obliged | to forbid officers forwarding requests to proceed for service.
