GERMANY'S LOVE FOU BRITAIN. "French, Russian, they matter Tito, t A blow for a blow, and a shot for a shot, We love them not, we hate them not, We hold iWiechel and Vosge (jats, We have but one and only hate, We love as one, wo hate as one, We have one foe, and one alone,
"lie is known to you al! h he is known to to you all; He crouches behind the dark, grey flood, Full of envy, of rase, of craft, of flail, Cut off by waves that are thicker than blood.
"We will never forego our hate, We have but a single hate, We love as one, we hate is one, We have but one foe, and one alone—"England." From a German.
GERMAN V' - SCSIP. A very curious condition of things in a purely bosiness way, has arisen 'at Bradford. It is estimated tliat Bradford export merchants are due between £1,500,000 and £1,750,000 from German firms for goods supplied, principally yprns. The Germans, with more ingenuity than honor, have decided, instead of paying the Bradford merchants what they are owed, to invest the money —the whole £1,500,000 or ,1.1,750,000 in German Government loan stocks, and send the scrip to the unfortunate merchants. Thus they are forced willy-nilly to assist in financing the German Government in a war against Great Britain, ami, of course, against themselves. It is now urged at Bradford that this action on the part of German firms has cleared the way for our Government, and that there should now be no scruples about at once taking action in the way of establishing a clearing-house, and making illegal any paympz-;s due to Germany, either indirectly now., or directly after the war.
