LIFE-SAVING.
Mr G. Tabor has generously donated a handsome shield for competition amongst the life-saving clubs of the North Island. The Shield, which is to be known as the Tabor Shield, will be held an-
nually and cannot be won outright. The ' rules' with regard to challenges will be j similar tothose of the Ranfurly Shield, i vie., challenging teams will have to visit the distrit in which the Shield is held. The first competition for this fine trophy will bo held at the East End picnic on New Year's Day, and a large number of outside clubs arc expected to be represented. It is understood that two clubs from the New Plymouth High School, all the members of which are branze mcdallon holders, will take part.
