TURKS DEFEATED. CAPTURE OF AMMUNITION AND GUNS. Received 25. 8.30 pan. I'etrograd, November 24. Official—Adanced parties defeated the enemy's column in the direction of Ezrourn, capturing caissons and an ammunition train. They also defeated the Turks in the region of the Ivhanessur heights at Azerbaijan, likewise at the hills near Dilinan where they captured a party of artillery.
FLIGHT OF TURKS. ARABS RESUME CIVIL LIFE. SULTAN'S HOLY WAR FALLS FLAT. Received 25, 10.40 p.m. London, November 24. The Press Bureau reports that the remnants of the Turkish forces at Basre have evaporated, leaving their guns and rifles. The Europeans were found safe. The Arab soldiers recently mobilised by the Turks were left behind, many having discarded their arms and uniforms and resumed civil dresß, being dissatisfied at the manner in which they were treated by the Turks. The Sultan's proclamation of a Holy War hug fallen flat in central Asia.
