PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY.
AN INVESTIGATION. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. At a meeting of the Presbjterian Assembly this afternoon, the Judicial Committee reported recommending that Mr Frasor be required to state liis charges against Professor Dickie in writing, and the grounds for same, and to appear before the Assembly to-morrow to substantiate them.
The Presbyterian General Assembly this afternoon received reports from the l'oim, Columbia, St. Margaret's, and Auckland Girls' Colleges, each being represented ns satisfactory. Tn the evening the reports of the Maori missionary field were taken, and these disclosed that a rapid state of progress was being made, though more workers were required. The fire insurance report showed that the insurances in force, on August 18 amounted to £212,857, distributed over 215 churches. The, New Century Fund report showed grants to the following:—Kelmorne £IOO, Matamata £225, Otorohanga £l5O, Seatoun £l5O, Te Kuiti £9O 15s 3d, making a total of £715 15s 3d. During the evening addresses were given by the Revs. .Tolly and Gray Dixson on mission work ami Samuel Marsden. The Assembly also carried a resolution, expressing appreciation of the action of Britain in connection with the war, and hoping the result would be that the enemy would be taught that might was not right.
