HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Wellington, November 23. Following ig the High Commissioner's cable, under date' London, November 21. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot):— Mutton.—The market is quiet and prices have declined; more is being offered on account of the moderate supplies coming forward; Canterbury, 5 15-lfid; North Island, 5 13-10 d. Lamb.—There is a dull sale for all lamb; prices have declined, partly owing to the competition with this season's. Australian: Canterbury, 65-8 d; heavy-weight, 6 3-8 d; other than Canterbury, fijd. Beef.—There has been no alteration in the market since last week. New Zealand hinds, 6 3-16 d; fores, 5 5-Bd. The chilled beef market is affected by the decrease in arrivals; hinds, 6 5-Bd-fores, 5 5-Bd. ' Butter.—The market is (inner and there is an active demand for high grades; Danish, steady, 139s to 1425; New Zealand, firm, 126s to 130s; unsalted 128s to 1325; Australian, firm, with more inquiry, 124s to 128s; Siberian, fair demand, 118s to 120s; Irish creamery, slow, 124s to 130s; Argentine steady, 120s to 1245. ' Cheese.—The market is firm with an upward tendency. Canadian, white and coloured, 70s to 775; I cannot quote prices for New Zealand cheese; the Corinthic is in dock and is discharging now.

Hemp.—There is a better demand for hemp on spot, but transactions are light. New Zealand, good fair grade £22 10s, fair grade, £2l 10s; fair current Manila £23 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 1200 bales. Wool.—The market is strong and prices are advancing for all grades of coarse crossbreds, but the market is a shade weaker for all grades of merinos and nne crossbreds.
