Official: Russian ships bombarding Cliopa, to the south-west of Batoum (on the eastern shore of the Black Sea), destroyed the harbor, barracks, and Customs House, and blew up the ammunition depot, ■ i> PERSIAN GULF. INDIAN TROOPS TX THE PERSIAN GULP. Received 23, 12.40 a.m. Amsterdam, November 22. The Frankfurt Zeitung says 4000 Indian troops were landed at Kowcit, 0000 at Bahrein, and 5000 at Bushire. The Turks sank the Hamburg-Amerika steamer Ekhatama in the Shat-el-Arab, to prevent British naval operations. (Bushire is a Persian port of 20,000 people, on the Persian Gulf. Bahrein Islands, also in the Persian Gulf, are under British protection, while Koweit is fa Turkish territory.)
GOEBEN'S LITTLE GAME BLOCKED. (Received 22, 4.40 p.m. Paris, November 21. It is reported that the Goeben and Breslau were on their way to bombard Yalta when the Russian fleet attacked them. It is believed that the Russian shells crippled the Goeben's 11-inch guns. TURKISH FORCE DEFEATED. Received 22, 4.40 p.m. Petrograd, November 21. A Russian column defeated the Turks in the direction of Erzerum. A STANDING POWDER MAGAZINE. WILL THE MATCH BE APPLIED? GRAVE SITUATION IN THE BALKANS. Received 22, 4.45 p.m. Rome, November 21. All reports frmn the Balkans describe the situation, especially in Bulgaria, as grave. It is stated that the Balkans are a standing powder magazine. BULGARIA TAKING SIDES.
Received 22, 4.45 p.m. Sofia, November 21. The defeat of the Servians at Valjeyo created an impression in Bulgaria, where popular feeding sides with the Entente. M. Malinoff, Democratic leader, in a speech in the Sobranje, demanded the opening of negotiations with the Entente to secure a-guarantee of the realisation of Bulgarian unity. FURTHER HELP FOR GREECE. Received 22, 4.40 p.m. Paris, November 21. Cabinet has decided to lend Greece 20,000,000 francs. ARABS ADVANCE ON EGYPT. Received 23, 12.10 a.m. Cairo, November 22. Turkish Bedouins crossed the eastern frontier of Sinai Peninsula. BRITISH RAILWAY CONFISCATED.
Received 23, 12.40 a.m. Constantinople, November 22. The Turkish Government confiscated the British Smyrna-Aidin railway.
