WOMAN'S WORLD.
RECEPTION. After the wedding ceremony of her daughter, the guests were entertained by Mrs H. S. Fitzherbert at her residence. A feature of the reception rooms was the decorations, which were masses of roses, and naturally were greatly admired. As it was a "rose wedding," most of the guests carried shower bouquets of roses, which made the "tout ensemble" doubly attractive. At the breakfast, Mr Claude Weston, in a very happy little speech, proposed the health of the bride, to which the bridegroom suitably responded. The guests were received by Mrs Fitzherbert, who was robed in a handsome violet taffetas, deftly trimmed with black lace, white silk toque, veiled in black lace finished with a violet-colour-ed lancer plume. Mrs E. P. Fenton wore a very smart hydrangea blue shot taffetas, faced with blue and pink floral silk, white silk hat veiled with pale blue ninon, trimmed with saxe blue lancer and tiny pink roses underneath brim.
Mrs W. L. Fitzherbert was robed in a smart golden brown brocaded ninon, faced with a darker shade with brown and blue floral ninon, waist front, brown satin hat, swathed and trimmed with shaded flame-coloured lancer plumes. Mrs Pat Fitaherbert, rose pink shantung, with floral ninon tunic, Tuscan hat, trimmed with black satin ribbon and pale pink roses. Miss M. Fookes, cream voile, inset with lace insertion, with floral ribbon belt, white silk hat wreathed with white roses.
Miss G. Fookes was robed in white crepe de chine, with floral silk ccinture, black hat, massed with scarlet roses.
Mrs Colville, very pretty petuniacoloured costume faced with shot green silk, black hat, lined with shell pink silk and wreathed with tiny pink and red roses.
Mrs McCleland, very smart dove grey crepe de chine, with cream lace vest, outlined with pink and green Oriental embroideries, grey silk hat, with grey lancer plume and pink roses. Miss Humphries, black and white silk, with black lace coat, black tagel toque, relieved with pink roses. Miss K. Humphries, black and white striped silk faced with black silk, smart black and white lace straw toque. Mrs Paul, oyster grey brocaded charmouse vest, trimmed with pale blue, and pink Oriental embroideries, grey satin hat, with lancer plume and bunches of pink and sky blue roses. Mrs Saxton, pastel blue, shantung silk, with black silk belt, and black tulle hat.
Miss Saxton, blue and pink flowered voile, saxe blue silk hat, trimmed with rose pink roses.
Miss Hirst, cream voile with wide belt of wallflower coloured floral silk, black and white hat with- large deep yellow rose.
Miss Leppor, white voik\ with a blue flowered voile tunic, blue floral silk hat, trimmed with pink roses. Mrs Morrison, very ])retty saxe blue Paisley charmcusc panelled and trimmed with violet taffetas, finished with Oriental embroideries, saxe blue hat to correspond. ' Miss Testar, dove-grey eharmcuse. with tiny cream lace vest, grey ■ hat trimmed with pink roses. Miss Head, white, voile, with blue floral tunic, saxe blue hat, massed with pink roses. Miss Stanford, black and white striped silk, black and white hat, with pink roses. Mrs Wilson, grey costume, with black coat, black toque relieved with cornflowers. Mrs Walker, smart cream cloth costume, black hat, with lancer plumes. Miss K. Leatliam, dainty French grey tail'etas, black tulle hat. Miss D. Bradbury, pretty white voile, with periwinkle blue silk ceinture, blue floral silk hat, with pink roses. Mrs Courtney, ciel blue silk costume, black and white hat. Mrs Kookos (senr.), black silk robe, with lace coat, black and white bonnet. Miss Webster, dainty white voile with blue floral tunic finished with blue silk belt, white hat, with feather ruche. PERSONAL. Airs. H. Good (Stratford) is on a visit to Xew Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips, who have been on a visit to Xew Plymouth, liave returned to Wellington. Miss Glenn (Hawera) is spending the week-end with Mrs. J. Glenn. Mrs. W. L. Fitzherbert (Palraerston) is on a visit to New Plymouth, arriving principally to attend the wedding of Miss Loris Fitzherbert. 'irisse s D. and G. Eoy are on a visit to Wellington. Miss Glasgow, who lias been the guest of Mrs. P>rewster, returned yesterday to Wanganui. Miss Mabel Evans, who has been on a short visit to her parents (Archdeacon and Mrs. P. G. Evans), has returned to Wellington. 'Mrs. H. Collier (Wanganui) is visiting Sew Plymouth, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Wellington). Miss K. ITamerton has returned from her three weeks' visit to Inglewood. Mrs. Davies left yesterday morning on a visit to Wanganui.
HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS. The annual sports of the iXew Plymouth Boys' High School, which were held last Thursday, were favored with glorious weather. Some very pretty ■frocks were worn by the lady visitors. During the afternoon excellent music was provided by Mrs. Woods' orchestra, And splendid afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Moyes and a strong committee, the proceeds going to swell the funds of the Poor in Britain and Belgium Fund. Amongst those present were:— Mrs. Moyes, pretty white muslin and lace robe, with vieux rose hat. ■ Mrs. Rockell, white muslin; black feathered hat. Mrs. Ryder, cream costume; black hat, trimmed with ostrich feathers. Mrs. Gilmour, golden brown velvet; pretty hat to correspond. Mrs. Balham, white muslin robe, relieved with a pale blue ceinture, which hat, trimmed with blue flowers. Mrs. D.
