I OPENING DAY. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. "' mu -,». Wanganui, Yesterday. The VVanganui Agricultural Show ) opened to-day in fine but windy weather. The influence of the war was seen in seme falling off in .the entries in classes, but totalled 1105, or 130 more than last year. The quality of the exhibits is, however, quite up to the mark, j fat stoctfc being particularly good. The ; association made a departure this year fin handing the management of"the .kiosks over to a committee of ladies, the whole of the proceeds going to the ; Belgian Fund. I The.awards were as folow:—Horses: 'Draughts, Mrs J. D. Ormond's Moto '<Glen champion. Cattle: B Short in Hcrefords and W. I. >Loveloc and J. Donald in Holsteins swept the board. Herefords: Champion bull, E. Short's "Eaton.Oak; cow, E. Short's Happv Rosa. Holsteins: Champion bull, >W. I. Lovelock's. King of Dominoes; reserve champion, J. Donald's Paul Pietertje; champion cow, J. Donald's Netherland Pauline; reserve, W. I. Lovelock's Colanhaha Lass. Ayshires: Champion bull, MTarland's Lord Genham; reserve John Cameron's Lohiel Joked; cow, W. H. Caine's Bright Smile. Polled Angus. Champion bull, IMoore Bros; champion cow Fred Moore; Jerseys, champion bull, R, J. Linn; champion cow, Peterson. Sheep: Border Leicesters: ram G. V. Pearce; English Leicesters: Bam, R. Bremer.
