.. MEETING OF COMMITTEE Aa a meeting of the New Plymouth Defence Rifle Club, Mr F. J. Hill, president, in the chair, it was proposed that the shooting for the champion cup consist of four matches, viz.: First ranges. 200, 500 and 600 yds, 10 shots each range, one optional sighter; second ranges 500,, 600 and 700 yds; third ranges 800, 900 and 1000 yds; fourth ranges 800, 900 and 1000 yds. The motion was lost and an amendment that the same matches apply, but that only seven shots be fired at each range instead of ten was carried.
It was moved that the club be divided into two divisions .to shoot for the championship cup and that the winner of each division fire off for the championship. The motion was lost. It was decided that the first match for the championship cup be fired on Thursday and Saturday, Nov. 26 and ,28, and that every member must declare on or before the Tuesday iji the week us to which day he will shoot on. It was also decided that the third match be fired on the third Thursday in January, 1915. ' It was decided that a spoon be given to the winner of each match in the championship series. The first shoot for the Saturday cup will take place on November 28, ranges 300, 500 and 600. The ranges for the three remaining matches for the Saturday cup will be "the same as fixed for the championship cup. It was resolved that a cup be procured by the club, to be known as the Thursday cup, to be fired for on similar conditions as the Saturday cup. No member of the club will be eligible to hold both the Thursday and Saturday cups in the one year. '» It was decided to continue the miniature rifle shooting matches.
