Sheep.—South American, light, 5%d; heavy, s'/ 3 d; ewes, 5 5-l(id. Lambs: None »ffcnng. Beef. —Argentine chilled fores, o'/nd; hinds, 0y 4 d; Uruguay chilled fores, 5%d; hinds, sd; Australian beef fores, 5%d. Other meats unchanged. Wheat.—Dull, 3d lower.

The wheat and (lour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,220,000 quarters; for the Continent, 1,500,000 quarters; Atlantic shipments, 702,000 quarters; Pacific, 45,000 quarters. Wellington, November 18. Following is the. High Commissioner's market report. (Note. —Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot) Meat Market.—Large supplies of Irish beef and English and Dutch mutton are coming forward at a reasonable price, which keep the market steady. There is little demand for frozen mutton, but prices are firm owing to the short supply at present fn store. Canterbury mutton, (kl per lb.; North Island, 5%d; ewes, sy 4 d. Lamb, —The market is dull, and very little business doing. Prices have declined. Canterbury, G 11-l(!d per lb.; other than Canterbury, 5V»d. Beef.—The market is very quiet, and very little is doing in the beef trade. New Zealand hinds, (i 3-10 d per lb.; fores, 5%d; chilled hinds, ■G , / 1 d; fores, 5%d.

Butter. —Tho market is quiet, but steady. Danish: Steady; per cwt., l.'iGa to 13fls. New Zealand: Quiet; BOs to I 12Ss. Australian: Steady; 122s to 12fis. Siberian: Quiet; 118s to 120s. Irish Creamery; Slow; 122s to 1265. Argentine: In fair demand; 120s to 1245. ! Cheese.—The market is firmer, with I fair demand. Canadian: Whita and colored, per cwt., 75s to 70s; deei> red, 70s to 775. English Cheddar, 82s to 84s; exceptionally, S(is. Hemp.—The market is quiet, but rather steadier. Fair current Manila, per ton, C 23; a forward shipment, December to January, realised ,€23 10s. The output from Manila for the week ' was 1G,(X)0 bales. Rather more interest was shown in New Zealand this week. At present the price is low; good-fair grade, per ton, £22 to £22 ss. Hiuh points are quoted at £2l ss, and fair at £2O 15s for shipment. Stocks of New Zealand hemp and tow at the end of October were 1204 tons. There was a better demand for sisal, but owing to the political situation in Mexico it is difficult to give reliable quotations, nominal values, £lO 12s fid per ton for fair average quality, and £2O 7s Gd for superior quality. W001.—36s (low erossbreds), 18'/ 2 d per lb.; 40's (low erossbreds), 10y 2 d per lb.; 44's (medium erossbreds), 21d per lb.; 50's (half-breds), 25 , /od per lb.; 56's (quarter-brcds), 2Sd per lb.; 60's (merinos), 30d per lb. There is no material change in market quotations, which are being well maintained.
