FLOUR MILLS CLOSED. MILLERS REFUSE TO SELL. Received 16, 9.15 p.m. Sydney, November 16. The secretary of the Mill Employees' Union states that two big flour mills have closed, and that others have shortened hands or are closing, many employees being rendered idle as the outcome of the price of flour being fixed at £9 17s 6d, at which figure millers are unwilling to sell.
ALIEN PROFESSORS' CORRESPONDENCE. Sydney, November 16. The military authorities raided the homes of two university professors who are Germans and impounded their correspondence.
NEW GUINEA. Sydney, November 16. The Herald's Raboul correspondent writes that the Germans used too much cruelty in keeping the niggers in subjection. Toes were cut off for trivial offences. These represent acts abhorrent to the English mind. Some Germans have been haled before the naval officer for ill-treating natives. Melbourne, Novembei 16. The Wilhclmshaven wireless is open to the public for communication, via Port Moresby.
