PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION, 1914. TAUMARUNUI ELECTORATE. I To the Electors,— J RECiET very much that owing to the shortness of notice that the General Election i 3 to take place this year, that it is impossible to visit every part of tlio Electorate and I trust that no Elector will think that X have neglected to visit his District. I have lived in the Electorate for seven years, and if elected, I intend to still reside here and to visit regularly the whole of the electorate. My platform is: 1. Reform wherever needed. t. The Freehold Tenure every time. 3. Borrowing for Reproductive Works 4. Vigorous prosecution of Roads and Railways. 5. L'ostponement of payment of rent and rates until settlement lands are provided with permanent roads. 0. Land and employment for everybody. 7. Right for everyone to work for a living wage. I am standing as an Independent Re- , form Candidate pledging myself to support Progressive Legislation emanating from either party, subject only to the condition that, on a no-confidence motion, I vote with the present Govern- " meat. I pledge myself to go to the Pofl. [ Yours faithfully, J 'f. W. SHORTLAXD. i . Taumarunui, November sth, 1914.
