Against the Turks.
RUSSIAN ADVANCE ON EZERUM. •TURKS SUFFER HEAVY LOSSES. RETREAT TO THE MOUNTAINS. Received 15, 6.5 p.m. Petrograd, November 14. The Russians are advancing ac Ezrrnin. Three sides of tho road were practically open to within a few miles of where they were confronted with the formidable Devebomn heights,' the scene of the severe fighting in 1877.
The Turks were reinforced at Ezerum from Trezilxmd. The Russians inl'Mtod great losses on the Turks at Alogrikos by a flank attack. The Russian left was caught by a punishing crossfire from mountain artillery, which was broken up by the infantry charges. Caucasians are now pursuing the Turks in the mountains.
RIOTING IK CONSTANTINOPLE. GERMANS CONTROL THE CITY. Copenhagen, November 13;There las been serious rioting in Constantinople and widespread disagreement with the Government's war policy. Germans have taken command of the city. RUSSIAN HEROES IN THE BLACK SEA.
Pctrograd, November 13. The official version of the incident in the Black Sea which occurred on October 30' states that the Russians Mew up the transport Pruth rather than surrender to the Gocben. The Pruth had no guns. When called upon to surrender she hoisted the military flag and made for the coast. Her captain opened the Kingston valves and blew a hole in the bottom of the vessel. Lieutenant Rogowsky perished while heroically attempting to fire a second charge of explosives. Part of the crew escaped in boats and others flung themselves into the water with lifebelts. Turkish torpedoers picked up some. A caplain and a handful of men remained aboard the Pruth, and, as she sank, the chaplain have been a good chance of surrounding j down with the ship cheering and singing the National Anthem. '•
