PUBLIC SERVICE SUPERANNUATION BOARD.

The qmarterly meeting of the Public Service Superannuation Board was held at Wellington on the 12th inst., th.re being present, Messrs Blow (chairman) Allport, Bishop, Combs, Ellison, Flanaguan, Huggins, and Mac Donald. It was resolved to forfeit the retiring allowanco of a contribute- retired as medically unfit, but who had recou-jed Ins health and failed U> aci:»ut suitable iv employment.
Retiring allowances were to fourteen contributors retired by reason of age or length of service, reprosenciiig an annual expenditure of £I6OB 3s. Two contributors were granted allowances on retirement as medically unfit, totalling £65 15s per annum. Eight widows and sixteen children were granted statutory allowances aggregating £352 per annum. The amount of compensation accrued to officers retired amounts to £3103 10s Id. One application for a retiring allowance on account of medical unfit" ness was refused, the contributor having declined to accept employment which the Board considered suitable for hiw.
