PARIHAKO ROAD BOARD.

MONT HI A' MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board wan held at Kaliotu on Thursday, tiiere being present: —The chairman (Mr Voung), Messrs Harvey and Green. I'oreman J. P. Kennedy reported that forming and metalling' about, sixteen chains of the Kaliotu road had been completed, and asked that V/., chains of the uniiietalled portion be, done The Board agreed to the work being done.

Jhaia Road.—(Repairs to leaver's hill now being done.

Bayly road lias been repaired with seventy yards of metal. The foreman added that the roads in the Parihaka district were in good order.

Applications for ranger were received, and Mr .)'. Geary was again appointed by the committee.

Mr Green complained of the laxity of the ranger, and moved that if he does not keep the stock off his roads, the appointment will be cancelled it the next meeting.—Carried. Messrs J. C. Cox and Chamberlain wrote asking that they be given access to their sections by the formation of a road which they were prepare,! u> raise by special loan of .Csm.i. T,chairman was authorised, to intcrii- ■.-. the parties interested, and if no particular objection to the loan is raised, that he authorise the secretary to go on with the work.

The inspector of Noxious Weeds wrote that he had laid information against natives, and some had been prosecuted for not grubbing gorse. He could not do more than this. Mr Harvey moved that the Public Trustee be written to to see that if the Board could not obtain rates for those lands in occupation by pakehas.—Seconded by Mr Green, and carried. ' The foreman stated that a quantity of ston« bought from Mr Hill was still on the land, and as it had been paid for, he thought it should be carted out during the fine weather.—The clerk was instructed to inquire if the stone had been paid for, and report next meeting. Balance Sheet—The audited balancesheet of the Board was received without comment.

Pungarehu road.—Mr Harvey asked that the Pungarehu factory road be repaired.

Accounts amounting to £llO were passed for payment.
