NEW PLYMOUTH v. MANAIA. Writes our Manaia correspondent, under yesterday's date:—The New Ply- I mouth bowlers tried conclusions witli Manaia' to-day. Excellent weather favored the visitors, though rain had fallen fan the previous night. The green was in first-c|ass order, and some excellent play was shown. The rink skipped by A. H. Christie put up a fliie performance. Their opponents were skipped by H. Smart, and;in the matches played at Opltnake'and Pihama had an unbeaten record. Crhistie's rink, however, finished five points ahead. Another good game was that played between Armitage's rink i and sthat of Firth. The score were level to the finish,' 'when Firth succeeded in winning by one point. In the other rink, McDonald against A, K. Smart, the visitors won by seven points. The local team, however, put up a good fight, the score at one stage of the game being 14 to 5. The total showed that New Plymouth won by three poifits. Following are the scores, the visiting players appearing first: Hooper, Cock, Plumtree, and A. K. Smart (s.), '22, v. Hunt, Dixon, Kranlslin, and McDonald (s.), 15. Goldwater, Penn, Luscombe. and Firth (s.), 15, v. Meuli, (itigson, .1. Christie,' and Armifage (s.), 14. Jenkinson, Phillips, Rundle, and H. Smart («.), 17, v. Colt, Butler, Holter, and A. 11. Christie (s.), 22.

At the conclusion of the game Mr. W. •T- McDonald (tin; president of tho local club) called for throe cheers for the visitors, and congratulated them on their win.

Mr. W. J. Ponn responded 011 behalf of the visitors. It was, he said, one of the pleasantest and most enjoyable games he had played in. It was 'their intention to keep up the annual trips, and they would all have pleasure in taking part in them. (Applause.) The visitors motored through to Stratford, leaving Manaia about 1 o'clock.
