THE CREW LANDED SAFELY. By Telegraph.—Per Presß Association. Gisborne, November 1. Richardson aiul Co.'s steamer Koutunui struck Peria roof, between VVaihou Bay and Ruukukore, P-ay of Plenty, at midnight. There was calm weather and the tide was rising. The vessel was driven within Jifty varda of the shore, whore she now 'lies. She will probably be lefc high and drv at low tide. The steamer Squall arrived to her assistance shortly beforo 10 o'clock. All hands are on shore. Probably all the cargo will be transferred to the Squall.

' All hands are safely ashore. Captain Yasta this morning expressed the opinion that there was no hope of getting the vessel off.

THE CANADA CAPE OVERDUE. Wellington, November 7. There has been some speculation concerning the Union Company's chartered steamer Canada Cape, due at Wcllinston last Tuesday from Newcastle. The Katoa reports that Inst Sunday she sighted the Canada Cape, which was under easy steam and stated that a slight mishap had occurred in the en-gine-room. The Canada Cape is expected to arrive to-night iir to-morrow.
