On Friday, 30th ult., my Kaiponga yards were well-filled, the majority of the yarding being cows which met an excellent market, bidding throughout being very spirited, Fat rows made from £0 ltis to £9 1; forward cows, £5 to £G 13s; store cows, £4 to £4 15s; lighter framed cows, £2 7a to £3 I'd; dairy bulls, £C to £10; 15-month steera, £2 18s to £3 2s; yearling to 15-month heifera, £2 la 6d to £2 ss; small, £1 4s to £1 12a (Id; springing heifers, best, *7 to £3; smaller, £4 10a to £5 15k; woanov pigs, lGs; breeding sows, £4 ss. At Urenui, on Monday, 2nd inßt., there was a full yarding, all classes of cattle being represented. There was a good attendance and practically everything, with the exception of some yearling heifers, and colored empty heifera were cleared at the hammer. Any cowa with condition sold very readily at advanced prices, also 15 mona. steers. The 2 to 3yr. steers were colored lines, but sold very well. Prices: good 15 months steers, £3 lCs 6d; Yearling stcera (colored lines) £2 10a t» £2 17s; weedy, £1 10s to £1 12s; 15-nion. heifera, well grown, £3 sa; good £•2 7s Od to £2 17s Sd; yearling heifers were unsaleable; 2yr. steers (mostly colored), £1 10s to £4 Us; good £a; colored 2 to .'{y 2 yr. steers £5 13s to £5 10s; 3'/>_yr. bullocks (colored), £7 ss; empty 2yr. heifers £3 10s.; small cows with young calves £3 17s 6d to £4 13a; fat cows, JIH 17a to £7 lis; forward cows, £5 to £(i l(is; good store eows, £4 15s to £4 17s; aged cows, £3 2s to £3 10s; dairy cows, £6 5s to £8 os; springing heifers, good, £0 15s to. £3 ss; smaller 2yr. olds, £4 17s Cd to £5 15s; very small, £3 to £3 17b 6d; Jersey 2yr. bulls, £ti to £7; yearling grade Jersey bulls, £3; Holstein dairy bull £10; 15 and 18-month Shorthorn bulls £5 12s 6d; for one short of condition £8 15a for a very nice bull. A heavy Jersey bull made £lO 17a (id for boning out. Fat shorn wethers, 21s 6d; fal aiiorn ewes, light, 19s Id; aged ewes and lambs £1; empty aged ewes, 14s tid; store pigs, £1 12s; weaner pigs, 10s to 12s.
At Raliotu oil Tuesday X had a Bmall yarding, all of which were sold at the following prices:—ls-month steers £3 to £3 7 s Bd; yearling steers, £2 to £2 12s; yearling heifers, £1 15s to £2; ato're cows, £3 5s to £4 6s; forward cows, £0 to £7; small cows and calves, £4 os; 2yr. steers (colored), £4 7s; Jersey bulls, £7 12s (lit; Shorthorn bulls i£B 10a to £9 15s; Holstein bulls, £4 to £8; springing heifers, £4 15a te £5 10s; pigs, weancra to slips, 15s to 17s Cd. On the flame day at Stratford for my weekly springing heifer sale, there waa a fair entry and improved prices were obtained throughout, best heifers selling up to £7 15b; small, £3 10s to £4 15s; dairy eons, .IS and £8 us; and 34 head cattle, averaging £0 5s 3d. MATTIIIiW'.S, CAM LIN & CO.'S EH POET. Matthews, Canilin and Co. repair a fair yarding of stock in their Inglewood yards last Wednesday. Store cows were i* good demand ,but springers and yearling heifers were slow of sale. We quote: Springing heifers £4 15a to £B, cows £5 5s to £6 15s, store and forward cows £5 to £ls (sa, small do. £3 7s fid to £4 10s, yearling heifers 36s to £2 4s 6d, yearling steers £3 3s to £3 lis, yearling bulls £3 10a to £4 4b, 2-year bulls £C to £lO. JOfI'IfSOXVIIiLE. Only a few good cows came forward, but a good im-rease of shorn sheen was yarded, and everything sold well at the following prices:—Extra 'prime cows, £lO 2s Od to £lO 10s; lighter, £8 10s; plain cows, £S f>n; voalers, 24a to 35sj light, 15s to 20s; prime heavy wethers, 2os 7d; prime wethers, '23s to 23s (id; light wethers, IDs 7d to 20s; prime heavy ewes, 23s tin 23s lid; prima ewes, 21s 8d to 22s 7d; lighter, 21s; light, 18s to 19s; extra prime lambs, 18s 9d; prim-e Irs (id; others, 14s to 14a 3d.
