THE WAIPAWA SKAT. !!>• Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Waipaw.i, Last XigM. Mr A. E. Jul], the Liberal candidate, at a, meeting last night said the dej'Pu'ction men elected as Liberals bad allowed Mr Massey to seize office. The people would return to Liberalism after three years' experience of the Government's failure to carry our promised reforms. A vote of thanks and confidence in the Liberal Party was passed.
THE EGMONT SEAT. Mr Astbury addressed the electors of Opua road in a room lent for the occasion by 'Mr McCann. Moat of the settlers on the road, together with a few ladies, were present. Mr Walsh was voted' to the chair, and briefly introduced the speaker. Mr Astbury, in bis opening remarks, thanked Mr "McCann for tho use of the room, and complimented his hearers on the interest they were showing in the election by their presence that evening. He then spoke of the pledges given by the Massey Party before obtaining office that had been broken, their various administrative actions, the increase in borrowing and expenditure, and the appointment of highsalaried officials, together with the total ignoring of their pledges to reduce Customs duties, and closed a very stirrin" address by appealing to Ms hearers to vote out. Massoydom. Votes of thanks to speaker, chairman, and Mr and Mrs McCann closed the proceedings.
