ITALY'S ACTION. FRIENDLY TO IALLIES. Times and Sydney Sun Services. l/>ndon, November 4. A Rome correspondent says he is authorised to state that Italy and England, besides being friends, are neighbors in the Red Sea and 'Mediterranean. When neighbors are threatened they naturally stick together. Preparations are being made in Jtaly to protect her colonies, and precautions arc being taken against a possible surprise.

The Tofua reports that affairs in Apia are quiet, and the New Zealand troops well. Previous to the Tofua's leaving •Suva, the Ciiirnhill, en route from New. castle to San Francisco, with a cargo of coal, arrived at Suva and was detained. A steamer from Bougainville, in the Herman Solomons,, arrived at Ealioul with two Englishmen and several Germans aboard. The former stated that Ocrman warships weer sighted off Kaweing, New Hanover. The Colonial Ammunition Company has presented a millions pounds, worth of ammunition to the expeditionary forces.
