In Holsteins the most successful exhibitors were W. J. Lovelock, 'Newton King, J. Donald (.'Wcstimre). Mr Lovelock'won the -.-hainpioDs'iii, fur |..|]i and cow, and reserve for eev.,' .Nevilon King's bull' securing the reserve. The judge, Mr rtitchison, of Jvaitangata, found them i hard to sort out. and'iiad to call in the I
aid of a brother judge, at times, hove. !oek',s "King oi Uominos'' was adjudged to'have better shoulder, and to be in better nick, though both first and second were magnificent in milling points and constitution. Lovelock's cow won in the
aged, three year, and two year, secured s.-cend in tin: :ii.i-..> vcar. and tliird in I'yearlings., and aged. -Mr Donald was second :n the a'.'.crt and two vcar, and first in tliu y.arliugs. A. 11. Street (lie! iilock) was tiiir.l in the three year. Donald untamed first and tliird in heifer calve.;, Hcrwise lor a pen of two. whilst Newton King goi Kocond in this class. Xcwlon Kind's "King Favne Segis II.." was the best aged bull. The Mime exhibitor scc.iivu tiie second in the three year huls with "King Aleantrae„" "Ro-e dc Kol" being first. In yearling bulls, King's "Sergius Duchess Lad'' was second wich "WiTowdalo Alcartra Paul--ue," and second for bull and 'progeny. Lovelock took second in the aged bull class, first'for three year bull, and third . for bull and progeny, this going to Mr: John Donald, whose bulls were first and second in the two year olds. .

Linn. ad. the reserve by rt. K. Lan-asicr; champion bull.by J. Murray, and reserve by H. H. Hunt of lloiigolea; both bails bem»- bv Twyhsh's Pieu>'. The Ayrshire men mustered 'in force and T. H. C'oip.n showed the champion cow, and D. Buchanan the reserve. The vhampion hull was W. Ilaylis' Prince' Bonus of (JlengarilV, and J. i'arland and Soli's showed the reserve champion. This bull now becomes the champion of the 1 herd book in tiie North Island. The most aiiccessful.exliibitors were:— D. Buchanan, the Porirua Mental Hospi- ' tal, and J. Kyle, the first named taking :i'.e lirsts. There were no Taran«.l4i breeders represented.
E. Short had almost a monopo'y of the Hereford championships, but C. and J. Levitt strongly contested the bull section.
There was no competition in Polled -Angus. The fat cattle were a magnificent lot. ('.. A. Turner, of Eltliam, was again a h'.rge c'-Jiibitor of magiiiliccnt Sini'lhorns, whining prizes, and res'. I've c'ur.i!p:oii.-'h ; 'ps.
la the saddle horses, ,T. I'dmr. of ILmeni, won the for lightweight hack and first for maiden hack of any e.ge. The hunters and li-ht were .i splendid Jot, a collection which exp-n* say has seldom been beaten hi any colonial show ling.
The jumping competitions throughout the afternoon were interesting. Mr Mitchell's horsemanship being a feature, as usual. The. V.'atehorn silver cup for hesl griuie cow went to Lancaster's Jersey grade, this exlVbitor running largely in this section. The Alia Laval eu'o for the bepi dairy cow, any breed, judged hy the judges of every breed, on points was won by S. If.. Lancaster'.-: exhibit. The champion butter-fat (ompefcition was won by F. It. Thornley's Primrose, a Jersey-Ayrshire crorw, whose performance reads:—2'J2lbs. milk. 4.0, JO.S-'lbs fat for four days test: The next best cow was Buchanan's Jersey Jean 17-Slbi; milk, 5.4 test.
Mrs G. 11. Saunders, of v \ew Plymouth, secured twelve firsts, three seconds, and two thirds for Irish terriers as well as the cup for the points prize. Summing up, there is a remarkable unanimity among experts that the show has never been of greater general excellence, tin- uniform high standard of the stock shown being a remarkable feature.
