A meeting of the committee of the, West End Foreshore improvement Soi •iety was held on Monday evening. Donations were received from Mesara. A. MeHardy and C. S. Curtis, who wot thanked for same.

Moverley wrote, pointing out that no letter of resignation as treasures Sad been scut by him to the secretaryHe stated that at the annual meetlne he deelined nomination for the position, Imt consented to hold office until a treasurer was appointed, and his letter to. the president asked for the appointment to be made, whereas the Press report made it appear that on tho Friday he was re-elected a.s treasurer, and oa the following Monday asked to be relieved of the position. The secretary was instructed to inform Mr. Moverley the error was made* by the reporter, and to express the com* mittee's regret for the wreng imprew sion conveyed. It was decided that Mrs. Wallach ft granted the right to cater for afternoon teas only on days other than those Oft which public picnics were held, when tha «ommittee would cater.
