Showers have fallen in western and southernmost districts of the South Island. The barometer has recorded HtHe movement since yesterday. Forecast*—Present indications ar • south-westerly breezes northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and moderate to strong westerly winds predominating elsewhere. Barometer falling in south won. Weather fair but with increasing cloudiness and liuniidifty generally.
