CANDIDATE'S SPEECHES AT DUXBDLN. Dunudin, Oetober ;!0. Mr G. S. Thompson, Independent Labor candidate for Chalmers, addressed a, meeting at Anderson's Bay to-night. He condemned the Government's land administration, and alleged that there had been undue tardiness in fixing the price of foodstuffs at the outbreak of the war. Mag'tlire, Independent Labor candidate for 'Dune-din west, addressed tho constituents on Thursday night. He. advocated proportional representation; the initiative, the referendum, and favor of recall: a system of preferential trade within the Empire to oust the Germans; anti-trust legislation; a national health service, and a tompulsory vote.
