Butter.—The market is quiet, and has ii slight downward ten.ii -;u-\ ; choicest new Australian is quote,l at 120s to 12Ss, and exceptionally at 130s. Cheese. —Quiet and linn; Canadian, 7Gs to 775.
Wheat. —The market is firmer, owing to the American recovery; most descriptions are 3d dearer; Australian, landed, is quoted at 47s Gd to -13s Flour. —Firm; Australian, ex store, 35s to 30s.
Barley.—Steady and unchanged. Oats. —Finn; New Zeaiaud, ex store, 2!Js to 325.
Peas.—Firm,j New Zealand maples 55s to C2».
Beans. —Steady; New Zealand 40a to 42u. Bradford Wool.—Tho market is exceedingly strong, and prices are very stiff owing to the scarcity of raw material. Prices: 64's 30'/.<l, super iiO's 20y a d, common GO's 28d, 50's 27d, 50's 24*/.d, 40's 21d, 40's lDd. SKIN AND HIDE SALE. NEWTON KING'S REPORT. On Tuesday, October 20th, at my monthly sale of the above produco I oiro.rcd to a large attendance ol buyers, the following catalogue: ~ 15 bags and 28 sacks wool, 802 hides, 5348 cai, 1720 sheepskins, 10 casks, 3 kegs, and 32 tins of tallow and the usual sundries. Competition was particularly animated, and 1 cleared practically llio whole catalogue at prices that must appeal to vendors. The outlook for tho coming season's wool clip seems very bright, as the few bags of fleece wool offered realised 8y 2 d per lb. 1 would strongly urge vendors to market their consignments early, as prices for everything is on a very high level. ' Wool— Crutchings advanced 2>/.d per lb.
Sheepskins.—Keenly competed for at l'/z'l to 2d per lb. higher. Hides.—Advanced another ] /id and in several cases Id per lb. Calfskins.—Very excited market. A further rise of y 4 d to Id per lb. Tallow.—Advanced £2 10s to £3 10s per ton. I quote:— Fleece, in dumps, S'/id, in bags to S'/sdj %-wool, Sd to S'/<d; dead, to 7'/id per lb.
