DISTRICT NEWS.
TARIKI. (From our Own Correspondent.) There was a large attendance of ladies at the sewing boe for the British and Belgium relief fund on the 21st inst. and it was decided to meet again on the 27th inst., to commence work f,,r tlie second expeditionary folic. Tlnrc was a good gathering recently at the residence of one of our leading townsmen to farewell Mr T. who is leaving Tan'ki to engage in farming at Kgniont Village. A Very pleasant social evening was spent. .\lr Schridcr, wiio was presented witli a handsome ease of pipes, expressed his regret at leaving Tarilci and in thanking hie friends for the beautiful and useful present they had made him. hoped that they would "look him up" on the Albert road, where they could iviy on getting a hearty welcome! (Applause). A basket social is being arranged for on the 28th inst.. the proceeds to'be devoted to the Tariki British and Belgium Relief Fund. Particulars will be .posted shortly.
