Ho is an authority on Balkan affairs, and the affairs of the Near East 1 generally. His publications include ' "Europe and the Turks," and' "With the Bulgarian Staff." He. was chairman of the Balkan Commission, and several other important, foodies. lie wa» A.D.C. to his father, Sir T. Powell Buxton, wlien ho was Governor of South Australia in 1800, and educated at' Trinity College, Oairfbridge. lie has travelled mucli in the Near East, and interested (himself in Macedonia. His brother Charles was private secretary to Ms father when Governor of South Aurtralia. He (has been Principal of "the Morley College for working men and women, first president of the South London 'branch of the Workers' Education Association and Liberal M.P. for Whitby, Yorks, 1905-0, and Devon, 1810.
