TRAGEDY AT ARMIDALE. Rwivct; 23, 1-2.5 a.m. £yd»oy, October 222. There was a .tragic snooting affair al 'Arniidile. A youth named Bowcn, saying, "If you wore a German, this is what I would do," playfully pointed n gun, which went oil and shot his sister dead. She was twenty-one years of ace.
THE BAND TROUBLE. The'independent conference appointed to arbitrate upon points in dispute between tho Citizens' Band and the Citizens' Committee sat last, night, and heard evidence from both sides. The real point at issue is this: lias the Citizens' Committee control over the musical affairs of the Band? Anil the question has special reference to the recent decision of the Citizens' Committee to dispense with the services of the conductor, against the wishes of the Band, and to make a new appointment. The committee will consider its decision and report.
