The arrangement inndo is for the Government to enable it to cable to the High Commissioner (he name of consignors' descriptions, descriptions and values of cargoes, :iino"nt of insurance required, name of steamer, and date of sailing. The High Commissioner will pav the premiums to (lie Imperial War Risk Insurance Oiiice, and secure the policies, cabling to the Government when this is done.
The general manager of the State Eire Insurance Otlive. Wellington, will receive particulars of cargoes under this scheme, and collect premiums here from consignors, plus the cost of tiie eah'es. The Imperial rate, is now two guineas per cent. Cargoes will bo accepted only in hulls already insured by the Imperial War Risk Insurance Office through the service of approved shipowners' associations in London. Similar arrangements have been made, subject to tlie same conditions, to cover cargoes from Xew Zealand to Eastern and Western ports of United States of America and Canada.
