ENTERTAINMENTS.
THE EMPIRE THEATRE. Last night's new programme at the Empire Theatre attracted a large attendance. The principal subject on the bill is the A.B. Company's feature drama, "The Wedding Gown." /A country girl goes to the city to live with her rieli aunt, who introduces her into society. The girl then forgets about her lover in the country, and accepts the proposal of a wealthy society wastrel, in order to conform with her aunt's ambitions. The girls' mother receives the news with disappointment, but forwards to her daughter the gown she -had made in anticipation of the girls' marriage witli her coun--1 try lover. The sight of the gown causes the girl to realise the mistake she is about to make, so she slips aw : ay back to her home in the country and weds the man she truly loves. The Vitagraph Company is represented by a special drama, entitled, "Ileart-broken Shep." The supporting films are all of a highclass nature. Seats may be reserved by 'phone, No. 365.
