Interest on pereptual stocks absorbed £O7 ,<>2.7, and £15.000 was placed to the reserve, leaving £l4O i- , for division. A further dividend of 4 per cent, was declared, £35,000 placed to tho reserve, £14,385 appointed for the cancellation of deposits, £SOOO added to the officers fumd and £4083 carried forward. The deposits total £2,816,818, current accounts £3,041,109, cash investments £2,864,840, bills £1,337,131, and advances £6,452,764. INVESTMENTS AND DIVIDENDS. London, October 17. The New Zealand Shipping Co. has declared a dividend of sixteen Shillings, and carried' forward £27,770. The Auckland Electric Tramways Oo.'s profit balance is ffASOI for the year's TOiltinp. NEWTON KINO'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Friday, 9th inst., at my Waiwakaiho yards, I had a full yarding, all accommodation being fully taxed. The quality and condition of tho cattle throughout was ragged, prices, however, being Well maintained, a good clearance being made as follows:—Yearling steers £2 9s to £3 ss, Jerseys £1 7s to £1 I4s fid, Jersey yearling heifers £2 8s fid to £2 19s, good Shorthorns up to £2 8a Od, smaller heifers £1 69 to £1 18s, empty 20-months heifers £2 IDs to £3 10s, heavy fat cows up to £9 16s, forward and fat cows £5 3s to £6 18s 6d, storo cows (good) £3 19s to £5, smaller cows £3 3s to £3 10s, very small-fram-ed cows and low in condition £1 12s to £2 13s, 2-year springing heifers £4 10s to £6 7s 6d, very small heifers (hard of sale) £3 5s to £4, 3-year springing heifers £6 2s 6d to £7 ss, dairy cows £5 to £7 ss, empty ewes 18s fid, hoggets 12s 8d to 163 Bd.i

At Stratford on Tuesday I had a good entry of all classes, there being a good demand, prices showing an advance right through the sale. Yearling stuers were enquired for most, those yarded seMing very readily. Excellent prices are offering for store and forward cows at present, making a good opportunity for dairymen to rid themselves of unprofitable dairy cows and replace with heifers. In the dairy yards all pens were full, and although I had no very choico heifers to offer, there were a good number showing fair quality, but in most cases the heifers were on the small side. On Wednesday, 14th inst., for rtiy spring cattle fair at Stonv Eivcr I had an entry of fully 1200 'head of stock, r big proportion being first-class cattle, reflecting much credit on the vendors and the coast generally. Buyers were present from all parts of Taranaki. making keen coinpeition for all lines offered. A very fine line of 50 forward 4 and 5-ycav bullocks was yarded by Mr. Joseph Lawn, of Warea ,the first pen of 20 being sold at £1,3 4s fid and the balance at £l3 5s fld.
